InstallAware

In case there is no installaware installed on a machine , Building the project file from command-line (with miabuild.exe) does not create a proper executable file if I pass the path of resource files as a compiler variable. Although, the same case works properly if installaware installed on the machine. I have all the necessary plug-ins on the target machine.

Any help you can give on this would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried just changing the build path of installaware? This is what my company does. We have a central location where we keep all of our install-aware project. We then have install-aware on a different machine that we use to build the scripts with.

We had to include the projects on the same computer that we are wanting to build the setup on because I do not believe you can build from a project on machine A and output to machine B properly (we tried but were getting errors) so we just put it all on one machine and use installawre to go accross the network to open the project.

The example I was trying to give you was that you should not need installaware on the machine that you are trying to create the exe on just the project.

Try copying the project file from you my documents or where ever you have these created and place it on the machine that you wish to create the exe on. Then open installaware and go to the open project screen, Browes to the machine that you just moved the project to and open it from there. Change your output path if needed and then try and buid it now. If this works then it should work with the command line as well.
