How do I add a Microsoft runtime that is not in the list or on this web site? Specifically, VSTO.

I needed a BSc(ia) degree to understand how to do this - I think there's a whitepaper somewhere that confused me even more.

What I did was wrote my very first MSIcode to check the registry to see if the program (in your case VSTO) was installed on the clients pc. This was a little tricky to discover but I think I googled the registry item code.

Then I used IA MSICode to run the installation of the desired program if the registry code didn't exist. There's an excellent article on who to execute an external program on the new support web site and I guess you could use that within the IF function.

I think I posted the MSICode snippet somewhere on this forum - if I remember rightly it was the MS SQL CE installation (well before IA added the SSQLCE3.5 module).

A search should reveal the code I posted.

This board is having some tech problems as well - it timed out and then posted twice.

I hear and appreciate what you are saying but... Here is my problem in a nutshell. I've never worked with scripting at all and have no idea where to begin as I have looked high and low for documentation and found next to nothing. I am shocked that as IA relies so heavily on scripting they don't provide the first lick of documentation on how to use it or even a hint at the obejct model. Re-inventing the wheel may excite some, but I am not one of them. :-(
