OK, i have developer license, i post here three questions and never had an answer... Please, answer this importan question, just this:
In my setup I install sqlexpress. When installed in msi code I put a sql script to enable clr in sqlexpress. With 32 system is all ok. Sql express is installed and cll is enabled. On Vista 64 bit, sql express is installed, clr is enabled BUT not working cause sqlexpress need to restart server to have clrenabled. I checked manually in the sqlinstance: clr is enabled but the query return "server must be restrated". If i restart the service, is ok. But I need to have IA made this. So I try to stop and start sqlinstance from msi code but is not working (acces denied). How can I do this? If I install a fress sqlexpress 64 bit version from outside IA, the sql express is nstalled, I enable clr and there is no nedd to restart the sqlinstance: What is the problem? Maybe a problem in the IA sqlruntime?

I have had similar problems with the SQL runtime from IA. I am still waiting on a fix for that one. Here is something to try just so you can make sure that it is a problem with IA. Run your install on the 64 bit system, but don't try and enable the clr until after your installer is completely finished. So you will need to enable clr outside of installaware to make sure that it is truly installaware problem.

That is what is happening to me. I can not run SQL scripts after IA installs SQL Server untill either I restart and finish my install or I wait till IA finishes and I run the script manually

I'm having problems with the "Microsoft SQL Server Script" plugin under Windows Vista.

I have no problems to connect to the database by using SQL Server Management Studio, but when I try to do the same by using the plugin, it just returns CONNECT_ERROR. I have already tried to install the Microsoft SQL Server Native Client, but it just didn't solve the problem.

What are the prerequisites to use this plugin? What do I have to install to make it work? Please help me!

Thanks in advance!

I'm having the same problem. I had it working earlier but I think I accidentally uninstall something  . Do the SQL plug-ins require MDAC 2.8 even if it is on Vista which provides the same funtionallity through WDAC 6? The MS SQL Instance plug-in is also not returning the installed servers/instances.

I've tried reinstalling InstallAware but that hasn't changed anything.
Comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

It turns out the problem I was having was with the Set x64 mode. I had change the script to set this mode early on in the script. The "MS SQL Server" plug-in does not work in this mode so I now set the mode to Win32, run the script and then change it back to x64. This addressed the problem I was having here as well as with the "MS SQL Instances" usage.
