Repair remove the patch

Hi,
I installed patch through web updates technique. Now when i started testing it, i come to know that repair will remove the latest patch ( means files which are installed through patch) and again the old installer files are there into the target directory.
Please help me to resolve this isssue.
Expected behavior is that it should repair the installer with the patch, should not remove the patch
