64 bit Installer

I am trying to create an installer for our product that would support both 32 and 64 bit platforms. We have segregrated the 32 and 64 bit versions of the install artifacts and based on the value returned by Get System Settings for 64 bit platform, the installer would install the files.
However, I would like to include some VC runtimes as support files. These runtimes would have the same name for 32 and 64 bit versions. How do I include these files so that InstallAware can store them in two separate folders and be able to use the correct version of the runtime based on the platform that the installer is installing on.

Don't add them as support files. Try using two "File Bag" plug-ins. These would create two separate "Support" folders and you will be able to use the right one at installation time.

Thank you for the suggestion.

I will be creating two file bags (one each for 32 and 64 bit platforms) and will use separate variables to acccess them during the runtime.

So, for the installer to know which "Support" folder to use, should I just set the value of SUPPORTDIR to the variable name of the file bag for the respective platform?

The support folder will be completely independent of the two file bag variables. Don't mix them. In total you will have three paths: one for the 32 bit files, another for the 64 bit files and the SUPPORTDIR which is independent.

These are VC runtimes for 32 and 64 bit platforms. The custom actions use these runtimes. How do I tell the installer to look for/use the correct set of runtimes based on the platform that the installer is running on?
