Update SQL Express 2005

As part of my project i need to install Sql Express 2005 Sp2 as application runtime, the installaware version i'm using is version 8 with Sql Express 2005 Sp2 also included.
Before we updated our version from IA7 to IA8 Sql Express was succesfuly installed from my project. even if there was another sql express version running on the machine.
Now i get as prereq Uninstall previous version of Sql Express 2005 and my Sql Express would not be installed.
