Resume after finishing installing MSI3.1 without reboot

Our software requires .NET 2.0 SP1.
To install this package, our setup first check if MSI 3.1 (required for .NET) is present.
If not, it will install it first. (prerequisit)

No problem so far.

But, because our setup is run within a special process, with administrator credentials, it is not possible to reboot and restart, because this special process will be lost after the reboot.
If I use the reboot and resume function, the setup tries to run with the currnet users cridentials and they do not have installer privileges.

We've found out that a reboot, after installing MSI 3.1, is not really nessecary. If we test this manually, you can simply quit the setup and restart the setup and the setup will continue. .NET 2.0 SP1 will install fine using the new msi 3.1.

I'm looking for a method, to quit the setup and automaticcly restarts itself.
Does someone have any idea how to do that?

Thanx

Ton

You may forcefully override the reboot if you wish, when you detect a Group Policy installation (and to detect it, you can use the new pre-defined group policy path variable).

Normally you need to deploy the runtimes themselves using Group Policy individually, so I really don't think there's any solution here other than forcefully overriding the reboot request in MSIcode when its a GPO install.
