Advertising.

Chaps, I'm experimenting with advertising for the first time. I had covered it in theory on an IS course in London and to be honest, I've never had a justifiable reason to use the concept. Seeing that IA, makes things much easier I thought it would be an opportunity to at least experiment with it. Like IS, I'm not sure how to do it in IA.

For example, I have two text files. I'd like one to be installed normally and the other to be installed when required, which I believe is what advertising is meant to do? The bit I can't work out is how to install the second file on first use only. I think I've been through all the obvious options I can see in the design tab. I've searched the help and I can see there are regular or advertise options for shortcuts for example, but I don't know if that's where I need to look at to advertise the text file. That is, is it an advertised shortcut that installs the file when it's needed?

I'd appreciate a pointer. Thanks.

You use advertised shortcuts and file types to dynamically install the files that are the target of these shortcuts.

However this is a fairly senseless option, especially given that web media blocks already offer a better implementation of the high-level idea "install features and copy files on demand".

Agreed.
