Hope someone can help.

We are sending a update out on a web update, when the appilcation see's there is a update the appilcation call in the install program with the /update option, the new update is downloaded fine, it uninstalls the old version (remove all files and desktop icon) but stops there.

When downloading and reinstall the setup.exe the firewall stops at the download standard.7zip and ask for it to be aload, when you allow it will install.

Is there a way around this so alluser with OneCare do not have to reinstall everytime there is a new version.

Sounds to me you need to allow the 7zip file type through the firewall. Or, you can use single file builds. Or, you can use a different extension than 7zip for web media blocks. Or, many more ideas along those lines will work.

The way I got around this is outlined lined below:-

we create a single install minus the .net 2 and installer 2 and 3.

the update script checks to see if winss services it running and if it is then it downloads the single build for onecare.
