Having trouble with .Net 3.5 SP1 and Vista

On both 32 and 64 bit Vista machines, I am finding that when I add .Net 3.5 SP1 as a pre-req, the install tells me that I am missing .Net 3.0 SP2 and .Net 3.5 SP1 even though I have manually installed them before running the install. I looked at the code that checks for the presence of these two items, and the version numbers it appears to be looking for do not match the version numbers on my machines. Did these versions change at some point? Are they just different in Vista? And even when I update the scripts to look for the version numbers I have, it still tells me I am missing those 2 pre-reqs. Any ideas what could cause that?

The default scripts work out of the box on a brand new Vista system, so hard to say what could be the problem. Why not run the scripts in the debugger to see what condition is failing?
