Does anyone know of a simply way to find the location of the \\binn folder for the SQL Server instance you are installing?

I can obtain the path to the SQL install using the following T-SQL, but I can't get the output param back into the IA script:

EXEC master.dbo.xp_instance_regread 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE',
'SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\MSSQLServer\\Setup',
'SQLDataRoot', @param = $OSQL_PATH$ OUTPUT

Would Read Registry help with this?
