Target Folder and Shortcut Folder Issue.

I have built my project and wish to alter the target folder and shortcut folder to include the manufacturer. I know the that pre-defined variable is "COMPANY" and have tried to add it in, but I am getting a problem.

I am adding it in via the Project Properties Tab so currently it looks like this.

Target Folder: $PROGRAMFILES$\\$COMPANY$\\$TITLE$
Shortcut Folder: $COMPANY$\\$TITLE$

I added $COMPANY$ in because it seemed like the appropriate thing to do. But when I build or run the installer to check it the path never changes. Is this something I have to add during the wizard or in the MSI code?

Thanks.

I created a basic setup and made exactly the change you described. When I ran the setup, the company name was shown properly on both the folder and start menu dialogs.

Well my original project still has the issue. I then made a test project and I go the same result, but made a second test project to check and it worked for me.

If it helps at all I am on Vista, I started the project via the Project Wizard and am using Studio 09 edition. Also on the Project Properties screen I have the Display Language selection dialog box ticked.

I guess I might just have to make a fresh project, but this seems like a bug to me.

Look at your MSIcode script to make sure $TARGETDIR$ and $STARTMENU$ are not being overridden.
