Patching from different user account broken

I'm using IA 8.0.1 and having problems patching my application. Patching works when the Patch is run by the same user account that installed the application, but if run by a different user account the patch does not update any files. Has anyone seen this before?
Thanks,
Dawid

Michael,
I was able to reproduce this problem with the IA Basic Setup project.
I build the Setup using miabuild on the build server and then I create a Patch on my local machine. Patching works as long as it's done by the same user account who installed the application. Patching does not update any files when run by a different user account.
When I build both Setup and Patch locally I don't come across this problem. This behavior seems very wrong to me. Why would it matter how the files are built, and why would Patching work flawlessly for one user, but not others.
I'm attaching Setup log files for the original installation, the successful patching and unsuccessful patching. Kindly take a look and let me know if anything looks suspicious.
Appreciate your help,
Dawid

IA Team,
I have narrowed the problem down. It seems to be a problem with InstallAware "File Paths" functionality or inherent in Windows Installer.
I change the file paths to point to my new binaries when I create a Patch. This apparently creates a bad Patch. The problem is not very apparent, because the Patch works when run by the same user account that installed the original app, but does work for a different user account.
The workaround is to never change the file paths after the original setup was built. I tested with 9.0.3SP1. Hope this is something that can be fixed.

Dawid
