HTMLViewer and Javascript

Does the HTMLViewer (used to display interactive HTML content on the progress screen) support Javascript and CSS?

I am having difficulty getting it to display much other than static linked images and markup...

No; the HTML viewer is a significantly cut down HTML host which only supports basic HTML tags.
