Can't run setup in 64 Bit mode on Windows 7 64 Bit

Hi.

I've got a problem with the installer on a Windows 7 64 Bit system. The installer includes the 32 Bit and the 64 Bit version of our program and decides during setup which one is to install. The installer is working fine on a Vista 64 Bit version, but on Windows 7 64 Bit it installs the 32 Bit version into the "Program Files (x86)" folder and writes the wrong registry keys.

The installer starts with the CHECKSYSTEM part:

Set Variable DF64Bit to FALSE
Get System Setting Windows in 64 bit Mode into CHECKSYSTEM
if Variable CHECKSYSTEM Equals TRUE
Set x64 - Native 64 bit Windows, AMD64 and EM64T Architectures - installation mode
Set Variable DF64Bit to TRUE
end

If you check the TARGETDIR variable after this, you get "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\".

If you change the TARGETDIR to "C:\\Program Files\\" in the destination dialog, the installer creates all folders needed for the program, but it doesn't copy any file to this folder. The complete installation is still found in the "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\" folder and the registry entries are still wrong.

Do you have any idea how to solve this problem?

Best regards.

PS: We are using InstallAware Studio 9.06.

You are using the Set 64bit mode command , right?

Hi Andy.

Thanks for your reply.

I've found the problem. The check.../setup...x64 scripts set the Win32 mode at the end. I've reset it to the Win64 mode now (instead of removing the Set Win32 commands). It's working fine now.

Best regards.
