Hi all!
Can anyone please tell me how to create Web Media Blocks from my files in InstallAware?
Pl. don't refer me to
http://www.installaware.com/webaware_in ... nology.pdf as I have read it and it is of no use in this regard.

The whitepaper does in fact describe exactly what you are asking about; I don't think I can do a better job than that here.

I know what you mean by the documentation - you want an actual EXAMPLE of what it looks like in the script file right? Just drag over the web media block to include your files - you may need to give it a name (if you don't - it assumes it is an offline content media block). (it is under compiler directives)
The question you posed wasn't exactly clear on what you are looking for
specifically.
If you want to create your OWN 7zip file that contains the files you want downloaded for your install - you will need to download a 7zip archiver. I suggest
www.7-zip.org but Michael can correct if I am wrong about using that.

My Exact Problem of Web Media Block Creation

Thanks a lot Chris for replying and trying to understand my problem.
Yes, what I exactly meant was: Say, I have 10 files of 20MB Size, which I want to move to Web-Media block, to reduce the size of my setup (offline setup, as they call it, I guess). Now my question was, how do I create a web-media block from these 10 files. Where can I tell InstallAware to package these files separately into a web-media block, rather than packaging them directly into the setup?
Sorry, but I am a developer, but not an InstallAware professional. So I could do simple setup-app, but I am really stuck up at this web-media-block thing.
I will try out what Chris has suggested (I hope, I understood it right!), but if somebody could elaborate, I would be really thankful to him.
If the problem is solved or not, I WILL post on this forum. A lot of thanks to all of you great and co-operative professionals, out there!
