InstallAware

on windows 7 wide taskbar. while showindg the dialogs the icon on the taskbar seems blur (stretching 16x16). this is shown blur only on the dialogs.
in the extracting part the icon seems OK.
both are using same icon(the red beetle icon).
please see attached...
How do i make it use the right size icon while showing the dialog.

Sorry to bring up an old subject but I have just come across this exact issue. Was a solution to this ever found? as far as i know the ico file contains all the different possible size combinations.

Are the icons only blur for the dialogs for you as well?

The icon appears ok in the top left of all the dialog windows.

It also appears ok in the task bar when 'Use small icons' is checked in the taskbar and start menu properties.

It's when you uncheck 'Use small icons' that the icon then becomes blurred in the tasbar (just like the attached image in the OP). I have asked our design team and they say that the icon contains all the possible sizes that they are aware of. Is there a custom size that we arent aware of?

The installaAware icon that loads up first, during the "installaware is verifying... " process appears to be ok though.

Was this ever resolved? If so what is the solution? What size icons need to be present in the .ico file for this to work correctly?

Personally I use an icon that contains the following formats (... and works perfectly):

24x24 - 256 colors
16x16 - RGB/A
32x32 - RGB/A
48x48 - RGB/A
256x256 RGB/A

Are you using the same format?
