Desktop Resolution & wallpapers

Hi, we are trying to add a little feature to our installer; set a desktop wallpaper.
For this I would need to know how to actually set a wallpaper. I would also need to be able to check the target computers current desktop resolution. I had hoped I could have used the "at least this value" commands available in IA, but the selection of defined resolutions are to narrow.
I assume I have to resort to several uses of "Call DLL Function"? Can anyone give me pointers on this? Which dll's/functions for instance?
