It's happening during install of my program when running the installaware wizard. It is occurring only on one computer. I've had my program installed on close to 100 computers with out having this problem. The operating system is Windows XP Pro, the same as many of the other successful installs.

Full message is "Runtime error in setup script: Line 529: error loading type library/DLL".

The thing that's driving me nuts is the error message doesn't even tell me what tbl or dll it's trying to load!

What do you have at line 529 in your script?

I get the same error. The really strange thing is I don't have any script at line 529! it only goes up to 391.

Also, the 2 computers with the problem are XP Pro SP3, but all the XP Pro SP3 don't have this problem.

At what time does this error occur? As soon as setup starts or somewhere along the line?

We're not sure what causes this. So far, based on your reports, we know that reproducibility is about 5%, the environment seems to be a factor and the causes is unknown. However, on the machine(s) that exhibit this, reproducibility is 100%, is that right?

Is there any way you can run some tests?
Does a simple, basic template project show this problem?
See if you can copy all of your Call DLL functions into a test project to see if one of them are the cause. Is it any Call DLL function or a specific function?

I don't have any Call DLL functions. It's a very straight forward install created through the GUI.
All of the computers (there are now 5) that are having this problem are XP SP3. They have the Windows Installer 3.1.4001.5512 installed. The only way to get this file is from the XP SP3 install. I'm wondering if this is the reason for the error.

FYI. I've upgraded to version 10 and created the install with it but get the same error, just a different line number (235).

I don't think Windows Installer is the problem. I have 3.01.4001.5512 in my testing environment.

If you create a new project (from basic template) does it throw the error?
