I'm running InstallAware 9 R2 ( Build Moya.sp2.052710 ). I've replaced my mia.lib with the one posted in the first topic. I have a user running Windows 7 x64 with Chinese local and a Chinese user name which is getting the 'Setup resource decompression failure' on his machine. I've read this topic and this topic. I'm running InstallAware 9 R2 ( Build Moya.sp2.052710 ). I've replaced my mia.lib with the one posted in the first topic. I have not been able to reproduce this on a system in the office yet.

What's the next step here? Is there any logging that can be done on the users machine to help determine what is going on? I'll continue to attempt to reproduce it here but if that's not possible for some reason I'd still like to determine a way to fix the issue. I was able to create anew simple installer using 9 R2 and it still showed the issue on his machine so I don't think the problem is with our installer.

This post is also related.

It would be extremely helpful if you would be able to test the following on your simple installer:

Comment out: "Create Shortcut $SHORTCUTFOLDER$\Uninstall #TITLE# to $UNINSTALLLINK$", and run that setup. (~line 213)

If you can also confirm that commenting that line out resolves the problem, that will gives us the best place to investigate on our end.
