Is UpDown (spin) control preventing control binding?

Hello,

I am designing a simple form with one edit box and one UpDown (spin) control associated with the edit box.
Everything works fine besides the binding... It appears that when the UpDown control is associated with the edit box, the initial value of the edit field is always set to the value of the UpDown's "Position" property and not the value of the variable that is bound to the edit box.

The "Position" property of the UpDown control does not support reading the value from the variable. So how can I achieve the proper binding behavior here?

Best regards,
adi

Are you trying to make it so that a value can be entered into the edit control and that will set the position of the UpDown control?

Hello,

I am sorry for the late reply (long holidays).
Yes, I am trying to put an edit box to the form with a spin control, and still be able to set the initial value though a variable associated with the edit box.

It appears that as soon as you associate the spin control to the edit box, the whole binding stops working. The initial value is always 0.
If you detach the spin control, everything gets back to normal (but of course you cannot change the value using the up/down buttons).

I'm afraid that what you're trying to do won't be realized as long as the UpDown control doesn't have the ability to write to variable.

Hello,

Then it makes the control useless... or at least limits the cases where it can be used to the fields where the default value is "0".
