InstallAware fails to start because plugin failed to compile

Hi,

when I run miabuild.exe, it fails with the message "Failed to compile plug-in action: (Un)Install MSI Setup". Note that I was able to compile the project once (and only once) successfully. After that, I always had the error mentioned above. Even if I create a new project from scratch and I try to compile it without doing any modification, I have the same error. I am therefore stuck. My InstallAware installation is now unusable and I can't generate any new package.

Is there any file or registry key that I can delete to run like the first time?

Note that if I run the InstallAware UI or miabuild.exe I get the same error.

Here is the output of running .

miabuild.exe "SOME_FOLDER\CubeCreation.mpr" /b=1 InstallerFolder="C:\Builds\2\9\Sources" VERSIONING=1.0.0.0

What OS are you running? 32/64-bit?

What version of InstallAware are you running?

What edition (express, developer, studio)?

OS: Windows Server 2008 R2
I am using Install Aware 9.0. I don't know about the edition. How can I know that?

The edition will appear on the title bar of the InstallAware IDE like [project name] - Installaware [edition]. You must be using Developer or Studio.

Reinstalling InstallAware has fixed this in the past.

You might be able to help identify the cause of this problem by doing the following:

Run PackageAware.exe found in the folder:
installPath\InstallAware\InstallAware 9 R2\Setup Capture

When prompted to run the installation,
Uninstall, then re-install InstallAware. It might be best to use the installer you originally used, but if you need to, the newest version should work.

Finish the Setup Capture. You don't need to create a portable project.

Zip up the project and upload it here.

Verify whether the problem was corrected by the re-install.
