Hi gang. I have an issue:

I have created an installation that just installs other pre-req components. The installation itself does not need to show up in the add/remove programs (the programs it installs does - such as for example: SQL Server Native Client, etc)

How do I prevent my "pre-req" installer from showing up in add/remove programs?

You'll need to remove Apply Install from the MSIcode.

This worked like a charm - THANKS! It wasn't obvious to me - but of course after the fact - doh!

I thought removing the 'Apply Install' command meant that nothing actually gets installed. Is that not correct?

Partly so but it does depend on what goes on before it and what "colour" the statement is assuming the default colours are used. For more information have a look at the sticky on the so-called "Purple Commands". That will hopefully throw some light on it.
