[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.exe

to
exe File
with disastrous results. Fix it!

Can you provide clear details about what the problem is and how to reproduce it?

Hi Andy,
This problem happened on PC with freshly installed Windows XP SP3 when trying to install an application with recently purchased Express InstalWare, not entering anything to the Registry menu. It can be worked around by running InstalWare with Source Key HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.exe defined on Target Keys as (ab Source Data) exefile
(ab Content Type Source Data) application/x-msdownload

Did you choose to create a file association? Can you provide a screenshot of the [erroneous] setup or configuration you provided?
