Saved Feature Selections missing some variables

During the install the user must specify two folder locations. One is the normal TARGETDIR. The other is called SERVERDIR. The first is being included in the file created with the "Saved Feature Selections" command. However the second is not.
What do i need to do to ensure that the SERVERDIR parameter is saved when this command is called?
Thanks
Andrew

Dear Andrew,
Unfortunately, I couldn't really understand what you are trying to do / what is the problem. Could you maybe attach (or send to support at installaware.com) a sample script that illustrates the problem?
Thank you!

Sorry I didnt explain it better. Let me try again. This is what i understand and see happening.
1. The "Save Feature Selections" command should save the features and variables configured by the user during the install.
2. This settings get saved to a text file which i can read.
3. Inside this text file I see a lot of lines of text representing various feature selections and variables.
All this is working and good. The problem is this:
1. Not all of the variables are being written to the text file.
2. There is one custom variable i have created called SERVERDIR which is amongst those that are not being written to the text file.
So my question is:
1. How do i ensure that the variables that i need to be written to the text file are written?
Thanks
Andrew

Dear Andrew,
I understand now - please note that Save Feature Selections only saves feature selections, which indicate the features chosen to be installed by the user during a custom setup. In order to save variables, you could do a few things:
1) after assigning the value to your variable (or before the installation finishes), set the variable's value to itself's and check the "remember value when restarting setup" checkbox. For example, if your variables name is A, you would do Set Variable A to $A$ and check the above checkbox. This way, your installer will remember this value the next time it runs.
2) write the variable's value to a text file and then read it when necessary (Read/Write text file).
Let me know if that helped
