Unavailable folder in My Pictures

Hi!

I'm using InstallAware Developer 10.10. (The project is imported from an previous IA express project.)

When "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders\My Pictures" is pointing to a non existent folder the installation fails.

I have in my install project newer used the My Pictures folder. I see no reason that my end user should have an hassle installing my application even with this wrong setting. The error message is also cryptic, just referring to a path that is wrong. There is no information in the error message to solve this.

Dear Tor,

I am not sure I understand the problem - what exactly is the error?
By the way, please use Get Folder Location - it is a lot easier than reading registry values :)

I'm not reading from the registry! A customer tried to install our product, created with IA 10.10. The installation failed with an error message. This is not a generic error, a lot of customers have installed without any problem. We used a lot of time tracing this error to a non existent path in the above mentioned registry setting. I can reproduce the error when I change the above mention registry value (in my registry!) to a non existing folder location. The installation fails. Changing back to a correct folder, the installation has no problem. I assume this is a IA bug. There is no reason that the installation needs to fail, at least not when my installation is not using any "My pictures".

Dear Tor,

Could you please send a project that reproduces this to support at installaware.com? I was unable to reproduce this here.
