Unable to extract resources on Korean Windows 7

Hey everyone, and thanks for reading.

We've made an installer for our program and are testing it on different systems for our international customers.
We've come across a problem where the installer wouldn't install when the system locale on windows 7 ultimate is set to Korean.
Note that I'm talking about locale, not language. When the locale is set to korean, it doesn't matter what language is picked, the installer
will start, and then give an error while extracting resources. If we switch the locale to english, it works perfectly.

Is this something we're doing wrong? or a bug in InstallAware?
Is there anything we can do to fix this ?

We're using Install Aware Studio 9 R2

Thanks!

Sincerely,
Roel.

Dear Roel,

What exactly does your project do? I would suggest that you create a new installer from the Basic Setup template and try installing it on the problematic machine with the locale set to Korean. Are you experiencing the same problems? If not, this problem has to do with your specific project. Please keep me posted.

Sorry for the delay,

We were kind of pre-occupied the last few days.
Well we've tested basic empty projects now and with the same result.

I do have a bit of new information now.
It's not just the locale, it's only a problem when the locale is set to Korean AND the username is korean.
When the locale is set to korean, but the username is plain english, everything works.

It doesn't matter if the user is a standard user or an administrator.
Running the installer as administrator works in both cases, but it might be because the administrator on the machine
has an english username. Note that just CHANGING the username is not the same as creating a user with a Korean name,
as changing the username will only do just that, and keep the users's home directory the same. Creating a new users creates a new home directory with, in our case, a korean directory name.

Thanks!

Dear Roel,

Has this happened on any other languages of user names and locales other than Korean? It just seems a little weird to me that this happens with Korean only. Have you tested this with other Asian languages?

This reminds me of a customer that has a english system with locale set to chinese. He had problems with our setup but we were never able to reproduce this, maybe cause we didn't use chinese usernames. I will test this now.
