Greetings all.

XP Pro SP3
installaware 10.0

project properties:
Summary and UAC:
Requested Elevation Level-Never Elevate

Aplication requirements:
Administrator Priviledges - Off

Giving testing machine:
XP Pro SP3
Local User/Member of Users

Instaling setup.exe all good

When i make a .msi via Group Policy, during instalation i am getting Error message "Could not write value InstalledByGpl to key \software\installaware" etc ...cancel/Retry/Ignore

Blanking out GP display name and GP display version, resulting error 2503 during the install ...

Any way to get arround this inside installaware?

Thank You.

Dear atg,

What do you mean by "When i make a .msi via Group Policy" - how exactly are you "making" the MSI?

I building a single file .exe and when IA done with it, from the design/menu i pick up GroupPolicy, browse to newly created .exe, choose saveas and push the button Ok.

Is there is any other way?

Dear atg,

It just wasn't clear from your post that you are using InstallAware to build the MSI :)
It sounds like a group policy issue to me. Have you tested other MSI files with that specific group configuration in order to eliminate a problem with your specific project?

Dear atg,

"group policy issue" - with your network configuration. Please try a different InstallAwaren MSI, and if that yields the same result, a non-InstallAware MSI.
