Error with Web Update
Posted: Thu Mar 03, 2011 10:49 am
I've just started playing with the web update feature (IA10.10), and I'm getting a crash.
I have a Web deploy project, which is all a single file (as suggested in the patching document). I've read through the "using Install Aware 7 To Publish Web Updates" and followed the instructions.
When I run the installer in /update mode (either from the shortcut it automatically puts into the Start menu, or from the command line) I get the following error:
Runtime error in install: Access violation at address 00602e3 in module 'cartovistapublisher3_installer.exe'. Read of address 00000374"
I tried running it from the command line with a log file, but the log file only shows:
<InstallAware>
<SupportDir>
</SupportDir>
<SetupSplash>
<StubSize>
</StubSize>
<StubData>
</StubData>
<GlobalLists>
</GlobalLists>
<ExtractArchive>
</ExtractArchive>
<CachedSupportDir>
</CachedSupportDir>
</InstallAware>
From the computer i'm running this on (virtual box XP), I can use IE to browse to the URL where both the updates.ini file and the web update patch are located and download them.
Help!
