dotnet runtime.

It's been a while since I last looked into using them but if I enable say, framework 3.5 as a prerequisite can I guarantee it will be downloaded and built into my setup?
Some of our clients use standalone machines which are not connected to the internet so JIT downloading is not an option. Ant comments?

Dear Peter,
I am not entirely sure what the question is.
.NET 3.5 is available with InstallAware, and even if not compiled is an offline web media block, you can simply include the runtime's 7z alongside your installation.

Aviv,
We have some pc's in a laboratory that have no internet or other network connection. I need to make sure that when we install our IA-built installation that we can include the dotnet framework automatically if it's not installed on the pc. That might be 3.5 in one application and possibly 2.0 in another. In other words, we'd like to automate the framework installation without the user having to source it from somewhere and install it themselves.

Dear Peter,
In that case, my answer applies - you can add the runtimes you are requiring and send them alongside your installer - no need for internet connection.

Dear Peter,
As a side note, you can build your installer in a single file mode, which means you will have one file that contains everything necessary for the setup.
This might better answer your question.
