Pre-checking a checkbox in code

I am trying to pre-check one of the checkboxes in a dialog. I did read the help example to pre-enable a checkbox (such as for the FINISH dialog). However this does not work for the Checked property. Well, actually it does work ... the control is pre-checked, but then it is impossible to un-check because the object rules make it always chcked if the invisible variable is true. Anyone have a solution ?
