Problem installing on XP - framedyn.dll missing.

Posted: Mon Jul 11, 2011 11:06 am
I have a plain install of a Builder C++ application as a single file executable.
It has signed code enabled and that works fine.
Installs perfectly on Vista and W7.
When installing on XP a dialog is displayed with a message to the effect that the program failed because framedyn.dll is missing.
Press the OK button and the installation works fine.
So my question is has anyone an idea as to how I change things to prevent the dialog appearing ?
Do I have to install a copy of framedyn.dll first ? how ?
Thanks

I think the problem is just that.
The file framedyn.dll was missing on my XP computer.
Copying the file into windows\system32 removed the problem.
Why didn't I think of that before.
I've just got to check that the file is normally on an XP computer.
Thanks for your interest.

Alan, you probably know already but this site http://www.processlibrary.com/ is very useful when it comes to discovering information about libraries, etc. It's not 100% accurate but its helpful in discovering tidbits about files and Windows resources and the like.
