I have an installer, that would install my web app to IIS 7. I am facing problem that, if I reinstall my web app which is in a new web site, the web site property would be changed to application pool.

Steps
1. Create new web site in IIS, set its physical path to c:\abc
2. Install the web app to new web site
3. Reinstall the web app again (same instance)
4. Go to IIS, new web site, right click Manage web site | Advance Settings, you might found that, its application pool is changed as same as the newly reinstalled web app, and same path.

Any ideas?

May be I should said, the application pool associated to the web site has been changed, having the same application pool and physical folder as my web app.

So is the problem the fact that you need to change the application pool when you reintsall, or is the problem that this is happening?

During reinstall, the virtual directory will be removed and re-add to IIS. It is working fine to as expected. The only problem is, some how the installer will change the application pool of the "web site" as well

Please find the attached screenshoot, default.png is the setting before I run reinstall, after.png is after reinstallation.
In my design, nomatter install, reinstall or uninstall, the setting of "web site" should not be changed
