What's going on with this install-time feedback?

My setup.exe runs fine but I noticed some unusual feedback displayed above the progress bar. In addition to the contents of the screenshots I get the conventional messages such as pinning shortcuts, filenames, etc, etc.

The screenshots puzzle me. UltraEdit and Ultra Defragger are two products I've got installed on my machine. Neither are being referenced in any way in my installation product so I'm at a loss to understand why IA 12 is including their names in the display. It's not a problem as everything installs okay but does anyone have any idea where and why IA is picking these names up when I run the setup.exe?

It's almost as if the build is walking down the road and sees bits of litter lying on the ground and picks them up and chucks them in the build. :)

Hi Peter,

Are these the names of your setups?

Aviv, they're nothing to do with my setup. UltraEdit is my paid-for editor and Ultra defragger (nothing to do with UltraEdit) was a freeware app I downloaded. As far as I can make out, they have no implied connection with my setup in any way and there's nothing in the setup that references them. That's what makes it weird as they are completely independent of IA and my setup project.

Peter,

These messages come from the Windows Installer engine - could you please try turning on the native engine and seeing if that makes a difference?

Aviv, thanks for confirming that. It sort of occurred to me that the evil Windoze might be behind it as I had my editor and defragger are available as right-click properties in the explorer folde. I suspected they were being pulled in from there but why Win7 does that is both unreasonable and daft. I will set the native engine property later today and I'll let you know what happens.

Edit: I changed the setup to use native engine mode and the odd messages have now disappeared.
