Silent Install Throws Up Windows Installer Dialogs

I am testing installing my package silently and this works fine (no installaware dialog is shown) but it keeps popping up a Windows Installer dialog which contains just a cancel button.

Is there a way to stop these from being shown?

Hi Matt,

I suspect ther is an error somewhere.

Probably, but I am just supposing, seems there is a string resource that signals some warning, it is out of sync.

Have you used localization? If so, Can you try to completely regenerate and reimport string resources?

Let me know.

Regards

Dear Matt,

it is quite strange. When a silent install is running, es. <setup.exe> /s, no dialog should be displayed.

If you like and you are able to reproduce it in a simple project, send it to me and I will try to have a look as soon as I can.

Regards

After some investigation this only appears to be occurring on one (Windows XP) machine, so this could be a Windows MSI issue?

Dear Matt,

I still suspect that there is an error with your project.

For your testing, attached you will find a very simple win32 Dummy project that already contains the exe build (just to perform a test ... it doesn't install nothing).

If you launch it with "Execute" or via Command line as: Dummy.exe /s, then you can test that no dialogs comes up.
