question for registry keys entry for uninstallation

Hi all:

We have a setup using 64bit setup template (ie. Set x64 - Native 64 bit Windows, AMD64 and EM64T Architectures - installation mode) and we found out after an installation, there are many keys with different uninstall string created in the registry.

EX:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{exe product id}
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{msi product id}
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Product_Title

and my questions are:

1- Is it possible to remove the 32-bit uninstall entry (the first one)? I have tried adding a delete registry command at the very end of the msicode, but it didn't work.

2- The third entry is used for the "Program and Features". If I remove it, our product entry will be disappear in "Add/Remove panel". If I delete the other (the second one), they cannot use the command that we embed to remove the app.
Is there any way that I can delete the third one and make the "Add/Remove info" using the second entry (using {msi product id}
) insteads?

Thanks.
Nhan

Dear Nhan,

actually on the fly, I do not remember exactly the relation between these reg keys.

Regarding the missed delete REG KEY command execution I can try to do a test later on ... and I will tell you.
