Hello,
I have a problem on windows 8 (64Bits).
I search to execute dsim.exe (C:\windows\system32\dism.exe) with "run programm as" command.
(I use this before the run programm as

Code: Select all

Set x64 - Native 64 bit Windows, AMD64 and EM64T Architectures - installation mode

)

But in the dism log file (C:\windows\logs\dism\dism.log), the target architecture is x86 !!!!
(if I run dism.exe with administrator cmd.exe, the target architecture is amd64 )

log file if IA lauch dism.exe

DISM.EXE: Host machine information: OS Version=6.2.9200, Running architecture=x86, Number of processors=4

log fil if dism.exe is launching by cmd administrator:

Code: Select all

DISM.EXE: Host machine information: OS Version=6.2.9200, Running architecture=amd64, Number of processors=4

So, why InstallAware do not launch dism.exe with amd64 architecture ?
how fix this error ?

Dear User,

I don't know how exactly have you tested it ... but with my test works correctly (Win 8 x64).

using:

Code: Select all

Set Variable ISWIN64 to FALSE
Get System Setting Windows in 64 bit Mode into ISWIN64
 
Comment: the following executes the command as native 64 on x64 OS only.
if Variable ISWIN64 Equals TRUE
 Set x64 - Native 64 bit Windows, AMD64 and EM64T Architectures - installation mode
 Run Program DISM.exe  (WAIT)
 Set Win32 - Native 32 bit Windows and Windows 32 on Windows 64 (WOW64) - installation mode
end

the resulting log reports:

Code: Select all

2012-09-27 08:15:11, Info                  DISM   DISM.EXE: <----- Starting Dism.exe session ----->
2012-09-27 08:15:11, Info                  DISM   DISM.EXE:

So I solved this problem by generating an 64-bit executable.
This executable launch (with success) dism.exe
