Found 2 media block bugs.
InstallAware Studio 2012

First bug is if you name the media block using a “.” within the name for example. "media_block_source1.2.3.7zip" it will not encrypt the media block.

Second bug is if you are installing a service and the code is listed to install the same service under 2 different IF statements InstallAware will fail when it attempts to extract the specific media block that the service is contained within.

Both issues are easily coded around but InstallAware should notify the user during compilation or something along those lines.

Dear Erik,

Regarding your first report I will verify it.

About your second one, are you refering the case where two different media bloks includes a same file?
If not, can you try to clarify it with a code snippet?

Regards.

To be a bit more descriptive. Below is a example of how to replicate the problem. The media block encodes just fine but for some reason it can not be decompressed by the setup.
It is easy enough to code around the issue it was just difficult to find the problem.

Example below.

DEFINE WEB MEDIA BLOCK

If variable INSTALLATION Equels INSTALL
Install Service Foo.exe
end

If Variable INSTALLATION Equels UPGRADE
Install Service Foo.exe
end

Dear Erik,

This last one is exactly what I meant with my previous reply and this happen, when a same file is used twice within the same WEB MEDIA BLOCK.

I'll tell you as soon as possible about you first one.
