[Feature Request] Parameter to suppress Language Selection

Hi,

is there a parameter available to suppress the language selection dialog box? If not could you please introduce one?

Why?
I adapted my setup to support semi-silent mode (show only progress dialogs) like you may know it from MSI parameter /qb /qr etc.
You guys told me how to implement this here: http://www.installaware.com/forum/viewt ... f=2&t=5703

That is working well but I still have to start the setup silent (/s) to avoid the language selection dialog box.
BUT the problem is that I don't see any progress while setup is unpacked. I only see the unpack dialog if I start the setup without "/s" but then I have the problem with the language selction dialog.

The only solution I see to this problem is to introduce a parameter to suppress this language dialog like I already requested it a long time ago here:
http://www.installaware.com/forum/viewt ... f=2&t=6004

Or has anybody an idea how to work around this?

Dear Alibaba,

I may suggest you a possible workaround.

You could create a custom language dialog selector to replace the one that comes with InstallAware.
Use the value from the ComboBox selection to assign the value of IA pre-defined LANGUAGE variable.
Store the above functionality in a custom script to in order to reuse the code with any project.

Finally include the script with your main project and excute it conditionally.
Doing this, you can use a custom command line parameter to conditionally suppress the dialog.

Hope this helps you.

Thank you Francesco, but I don't want to build my own language selection dialog. I already have enough issues with my custom semi-silent implementation right now and that is why I would like to use IA standards.
Why it is this difficult for you to introduce such a parameter? I can already supress the language selection dialog by activating a checkbox in the IA IDE. But why couldn't this also be done with a parameter? I don't want to have two releases: one with langauge selection dialog for interactive installation and one without this dialog for semi-silent execution.

Dear Alibaba,

This request was already submitted to our dev team.
I can only suppose that has not been introduced yet, because can be easily resolved as I suggested previously and also because, there was some more important fixes & features to release in this last period.

By the way, in orther to demostrate you how can be easy to release a custom language selector, I have released a sample project that you find attached with this post.

The sample includes a ready to use script and language selector dialog, that can be used with any other project to have the same functionality.
I spent no more of 10 minutes to release it.

With my sample you don't need to have two different releases (Silent or Dialog selection), the dialog selector can be independently suppressed using a cmd line parameter; <setup.exe> "SHOW_LANGUAGE_SELECTOR=FALSE". This obviously, it is not required when you run the package in silent mode.
The above approach can be added to a custom project template and in this way, you will have the same functionality with any new project that you will create by default.

Please note, the included project demostrates as well dialog resourse and variable localization. Due demostration purpose, only the first welcome dialog has been translated with used project languages.

The attached sample already contains the ready to use setup package.

Hope this helps you.
