Patch

Hi everybody,
I recently created an Installer and now want to create a patch.
There are some files missing in the original installer which I want to provide the user with the patch. We are assuming that the user ran the installer on his machine and now runs the patch. I build the patch in a way that it only includes the missing files not all the files of the original installer as well. The file size of the patch reflects that fact.
Now I am running into a problem. The patch asks for the original installer when being executed on the user’s machine. All the patch is supposed to do is to add the files and leave everything else untouched.
Why does the patch need the original installer?
How can I build the patch in a way that the user does not need to have the original installer at hand but can rather run it on its own?

Thanks in advance

Dear Bristok,

you need to have your setup source cached files available on target system, otherwise the patch asks for the original installer.

Please make sure "Always Cache Setup Sources (enables easy patching)" (Build Settings) flag is checked.

Obviously, you need to apply the above setting to your original project and then to distribute it once again ... before to execute your patch ( ... which needs to be rebuilt using the same setting as well).

Please refer to "Build Settings" in IA documentation.
