New variables

Just to clarify, is the process of creating a variable no more than simply adding a new name in the combo window when you need one? For example, I wanted to check for the machinename, so I just typed in CHECKMACHINE in the Get System Settings dialog.

A nice product, seems fairly easy to work with, but a tutorial would be fantastic. The help file is spotty: sometimes hit right on point, but other times, the most obvious items aren't so obviously specified.

Not really a tutorial but worth to read:

For most commands, that will work. For plug-in commands, variables have to be pre-defined using the Set Variable command. The IDE warns you about this using tip balloons, so hopefully that helps smooth out the experience.
