Re: More details on \"Set 64 Bit Mode\" command

So, if I'm understanding this correctly, using IA9R2, if I want to create a set of entries in the registry under both the 64 bit node and the 32 bit node, I have to write two installers??? Switching into 64bit mode for just the portion that needs to write the info into the 64bit section won't do it? Does IA10 fix this problem? Do I have other options? Please help with this!

Dear BobSchaefer,

You should be able to do this by changing the 64 bit mode in run time. Consider the following pseudo-code:
Set 64 Bit Mode
Set x64 registry values
Set 32 Bit Mode
Set x86 registry values

I did that, except reversed. I set the registry values in 32bit mode, then went into 64bit mode, and re-did the exact same registry values and they did not write them out. I've attached the section of code that I have. When I run this on a 2008 64bit windows box, only the 32bit section actually gets written.

Code: Select all

Keep in mind, I'm not on 10, I'm on 9. If we have to go to 10 in order for this functionality to work correctly, then I need to know that as well.

Hopefully, someone will see something stupid that I'm doing and can help me resolve this.
