Different results when running batch file through v7.0

Hi,

In my project I detect if the installation machine is running Microsoft Message Queuing and if not then it runs a batch file which I have that installs\\configures MSMQ from the add/remove windows components automatically.

This batch file runs absolutely fine when run directly on a machine (XP) but when running it from my installation project the batch file attempts to run but fails with the message

"The application could not be initialized."

Even if I do not actually include the batch file as a support file in my project and try an execute it from within the project I get the same problem.

Any thoughts?

Kind Regards
Chris

You may need to run the batch file using cmd.exe, the command line processor. cmd.exe has parameters to run batch files etc.

Thanks.
I had already tried that when having the batch file as a support file but that didn't work as cmd.exe couldn't find the file but I'll try it again just running a previously installed batch file.

Sadly this gives the same result. What I don't understand is why the file will run fine when run manually but not when run from with the installation project.

I assume that when running something through IA it uses the same user credentials as the current widows user?
