Error connection to SQL Server instance

Hi,

Our installer installs a SQL Server Express SP3 instance on the local machine, and after that connects to that same instance and executes a script that creates a database.
It was running fine on IA 9.06, but after installing 9.07 (R2) it does not create the database anymore - the plugin returns CONNECT_ERROR.

Any idea of why this might be failing? I've tried to add a port number to the server as specified in a sticky message in this forum, until now without success.

Thanks in advance, regards,

Octavio

Yes, that was the one I was referring to.

Thanks - Octavio

We actually implemented the suggestion in the sticky post, as part of the InstallAware 9 R2 update. But go figure, this has made things worse for some of our customers. It is impossible apparently to get SQL Server connections working for everyone

I have attached the old version of the SQL Server plug-in DLL to this message. Just use it instead of the one included with InstallAware 9 R2 if you are affected by this problem. If anybody can provide further troubleshooting assistance by monitoring connections and ports like in the sticky post, I'd be much thankful :D

Extract the file inside the archive and place it here, overwriting the newer DLL:
C:\Program Files\InstallAware\InstallAware 9 R2\Plug-Ins\MS SQL Server
(typical install path)

Thanks, Michael!

This works as previously.
