Error connection to SQL Server instance

Hi,

Our installer installs a SQL Server Express SP3 instance on the local machine, and after that connects to that same instance and executes a script that creates a database.
It was running fine on IA 9.06, but after installing 9.07 (R2) it does not create the database anymore - the plugin returns CONNECT_ERROR.

Any idea of why this might be failing? I've tried to add a port number to the server as specified in a sticky message in this forum, until now without success.

We actually implemented the suggestion in the sticky post, as part of the InstallAware 9 R2 update. But go figure, this has made things worse for some of our customers. It is impossible apparently to get SQL Server connections working for everyone

I have attached the old version of the SQL Server plug-in DLL to this message. Just use it instead of the one included with InstallAware 9 R2 if you are affected by this problem. If anybody can provide further troubleshooting assistance by monitoring connections and ports like in the sticky post, I'd be much thankful

Extract the file inside the archive and place it here, overwriting the newer DLL:
C:\Program Files\InstallAware\InstallAware 9 R2\Plug-Ins\MS SQL Server
(typical install path)
