Hi,
Where exactly are you looking?

the documentation says:
On the Project tab, in the New group, click any button.
Click the InstallAware button, then choose New ProjectOther
In VS2010 (VB) i see no project tab. When i use the menu: "File - New - Project..." i only see the standard installed templates but nothing that looks like installaware.

Hey,
That documentation is referring to the InstallAware IDE, not the Visual Studio plugin.
You have to be able to run the IDE directly to access these functions.

From where can i run the IDE directly? In the installation folder i see a executable "miaa.exe" but when i execute this file i get the error: "Installaware Free Edition cannot be launched uotside of Visual Studio."
When i look inside visual studio i don't see any menu or button where i can start the installaware IDE.

Exactly - as I said, you have to be able to run the IDE, which you don't because you are running the free version.

Is there documentation available specially for the free-version?

Hi,
The Visual Studio add-in which constitutes the Free Edition is pretty self explanatory.
If you have any specific questions, please go ahead!

I still don't know if installaware is installed correctly.
Is the free version an add-in? in the add-in manager i don't have any add-in available.
How can i see that installaware Free is installed correcly?

InstallAware Free is the InstallAware Engine coupled with the Visual Studio add-in.
Though you cannot run the IA IDE directly, you can build setups within Visual Studio.
Are you able to see the InstallAware ribbon inside Visual Studio?

I have no ribbon (as in MS Office) in VS2010. If you mean the toolbars: i don't see an installaware toolbar in VS2010.

I don't have a menu-option 'installaware' and i don't have a toolbar 'installaware"
Is it a problem if i installed VS and installaware not on drive C? at the moment i installed VS and installaware on drive E.

That should not be a problem - please try reinstalling InstallAware.

i re-installed it a dozen times, with no luck. I tried different ways:
uninstalling with an uninstaller so that the registry is cleaned
reinstalled as an administrator
Next week i try to install it on my other computer when i 'm back home. For this vacation i'm through with it. If it doesn't install on my other computer i'll go searching for alternative software. Lets hope i can give a positive result next week.
thanks so far for the support.
