Hi,
We have problem to write settings from a .dll to Registry using "Register/Install assembly".
It do not work, no Settings are written down...
This could be testet on XP or win7 (64)...
When we run it in Dos-BOX using "C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\RegAsm.exe" we have no Problem..
When we run above RegAsm.exe with "Run Program" in IA 15 (Build 11.05.12) everything is fine...
What to do? You have an idea?
regards

Dear Rulan,
does it happen with that assembly only, or with any other one?
I may suggest you to have a look at the following link;

Dear Francesco,
----does it happen with that assembly only, or with any other one?---
IT seems there are Register-Problems with other assemblies too..
Regasm.exe with "run Program" works fine!!!

Dear Rulan,
very strange!
Are you using "Set x64 - Native 64 bit Windows, .... installation mode" command within your code?
I'm asking this because I seen you used the x86 version of "RegAsm.exe" when you used the CMD prompt.

Hello Francesco,
I think I got it, but it seems to be a little bit strang to me...
First... Using regasm.exe 64 or 32 bit made no difference!!! Both work fine...
1) (32-bit mode) I install the .dll using "install assembly D:\....\bla bla\ File.dll" before apply install
Result no registry settings are written...
2) Then I try to register using "register assembly D:\....\bla bla\ File.dll" after apply install using native engine...
I find out ...

what is going wrong with the first Version I tried?? Could You prove it?

Dear Rulan,
with your screen shots you have two calls to Register Assambly and with it you should pass the file name only.
I am not a .NET expert, but for what I know the Register assembly command relies on "regasm" tool and with it the assembly have to be registered as;
- regasm myTest.dll
