Upgrading multiple instances

Postby andyhore » Tue May 04, 2010 8:50 am

Hi,

I've yet to get an answer on this one, so I'm getting a little desperate for help. We allow multiple instances of our product to be installed, and IA( supports that natively now (thanks.....I think...). Now, what I originally wanted to be able to do is to patch those instances. So, create a patch file and then when it's run it works out there are multiple instances and it lets me choose which one to patch. I've yet to find a way to make that work and it looks like it's not possible. OK, I guess the next-best thing is to do a new revision, rather than a patch, and have it uninstall and re-install for me. However, I still want to be able to select which version to update or add a new one. Right now, it seams that it lets you update the original instance or add a new one, but does not let you choose any of the other instances.

Anybody solved this problem? I'm I asking/expecting too much?

Andy help would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks,
Andy.

Hi Andy,

I believe only the default instance is currently service-able for updates/patches. You can still manually service the other installations, of course.
