The new version 15 splash screen shows a martian landscape and a partly decapitated robotic bloke standing with an IA flag in his left hand. The orange cloak complements the martian soil quite nicely so it's good to see that IA have a fashion guru they can call on. I'm not sure what happened to the left side of his face. The red eye suggests he caught an early flight and the right eye has a sort of one half of the Lone Ranger's mask. Which begs the question: where is Tonto?
I'm probably reading too much in the symbolism of it all; it is after all pelting with rain here in the UK on Sunday morning and I've nothing else to do. But why does he have head his hanging off? What's that about?
What's the story with 15's Mars splash screen?

Re: What's the story with 15's Mars splash screen?
I think the following happened:
1. Our superhero punched his way through the glass.
2. In doing so, the broken glass severed his neck.
Conclusions:
1. He should have worn a hardhat.
2. If it had happened in the UK, the HSE (Health & Safety Executive) would have jumped on you lot and that doesn't count the lawyers who represent the DRM (Decapitated Robots Movement) who'd be after substantial damages.
3. It also proves that all the developers at IA are male, hence Mars. If there were female developers we'd have a Venus perspective as well.
Prize awards (choose one or none):
1. InstallShield.
2. Notepad.
Notepad please.

Re: What's the story with 15's Mars splash screen?
The dual face (or robotics underneath the flesh) is suggestive of "hybrid installation" - native support? Perhaps losing our head is not so critical since IA is "self-healing". The comment is "we might as well have gone to Mars" perhaps discussing the difficulty in getting the newest version running well and the victory in completing it and conquering Mars.

That's an excellent shout. If that's not worth mega-brownie points then I don't know what is.
