Postby ajacques » Wed Aug 28, 2013 7:50 am

Hi,

Is there an update to the plugins which has the latest MS SQL Express 2008 R2 SP2?

If there is I am running the NX Express version of InstallAware, where may I download it.

Thanks
Andrew

Dear Andrew,

no other updates has been released for that plugin, due the fact that all MS SQL Express versions are now available through the Application Runtimes page within IA IDE.

Hi Francesco,

Thanks for this. Sorry I used the wrong terminology, yes the Application Runtime is what I am using and it is a the reason I bought the system because it makes setting up and install so easy.

I should have asked how do we update these runtimes to have the latest service packs etc.?

Thanks
Andrew

Dear Andrew,

You could create a custom runtime package, just follow the steps described with the document; "Extending the Application Runtimes View" http://www.installaware.com/publications-whitepapers.htm.

Alternatively, you could modify a defaul IA runtime script in order to use a more recent runtime installer or the simplest way, use the Run Program command within your script to execute a runtime package installer.
